The Big Music Cruise

Thank you for your inquiries about this wonderful and intimate music adventure on land and across the Caribbean. Please excuse this “form letter” but we have received more than normal amount of requested information for the 2009 Big Music Cruise festival. This provides a way to respond in a timely manner with the most current details.

Here’s the latest:

  • Trip dates are Sunday, July 19th through Saturday July 25, 2009
  • July 19th is the Bon Voyage Galveston Island concert kick-off including a night stay in historic luxury hotels. Plus some new activities to be announced…
  • July 20 – 25th we CCRuise on the Carnival Ecstasy departing the Cruise Port of  Galveston, Texas and make two port stops at Progreso Yucatan and Cozumel.
  • A full schedule of intimate and exclusive musical performances are in the works. In addition there will be plenty of “entertaining and sporting” activities for the BigMusicCruisers. Of course, the world’s most popular cruise line will offer a tremendous amount of activities and excursions.
  • Artists announcements coming soon.
  • Your cruise package will include exclusive Big Music Cruise performances, open bar on the ship, all food on the ship, one night (or more if you prefer) stay in the historic Galveston entertainment district plus much more.

THE MUSICFEST
Dates for MusicFest 2009 was Jan. 5-10th.
New this year, an option to extend your MusicFest for 2 nights!
 

Robert Earl Keen Tribute To A Legend LIVE!
First, we'd like to express how grateful we are to Mr. Keen and the 20 + MusicFest artists that participated in this recording on January 8th, 2008. Without a doubt, this is a very unique, one-of-a-kind recording that truly made musical history. At this time the recording is back in Austin and the audio engineering experts are checking every "sound" to assure that the final product is the finest live recording possible. As soon as we know the "street date" of this phenomenal recording, we'll start spreading the news via the Big Ski Trip online newsletter. Part of the proceeds will benefit The Center for Texas Music History.

The MusicFest DVD "No Sleep 'til Texas"
The MusicFest DVD editing process is complete and the DVD is currently in the packaging process. Once packaging is complete the DVD will be mailed to those who pre-purchased this unprecedented work. As soon as the project is complete and available, DP will re-instate the sales of the DVD via select retail and online stores.

The DVD is a project headed by Willy Braun (front man of Reckless Kelly), filmed by a professional team of friends that Willy has worked with on other projects including music videos. As Willy puts it when asked about how the DVD was approached, "The reason for this project was to capture what the MusicFest is from the inside. The real inside- not scripted, pre calculated, manipulated façade of "reality T.V." but a true, honest heart and soul of The MusicFest at Steamboat"
