Characterized by its unique setting, nestled along the banks of the Guadalupe River, the Whitewater Amphitheater is quickly proving to be one of the most picturesque and outstanding music facilities in Central Texas. Officially opening May 25th 2007, the multi-million dollar facility is of the highest caliber, and offers two stages to host an array of leading artists and events as Central Texas’ newest premier outdoor venue.
Taking advantage of its convenient New Braunfels location, just minutes from hotspots like Gruene Hall and le ss than a mile from River Road, the Whitewater Amphitheatre is well integrated into the community and its existing riverside landscape, the ONLY venue bordered on two sides by a “year round” creek. The venue has taken great care to retain the beauty of its natural surroundings, canopied by a silhouette of ancient Cypress and large heritage trees.
The Whitewater Amphitheatre incorporates distinctive architectural elements into an already gorgeous riverside location.
The main Whitewater Stage features a roomy “landing zone” right in front of the stage, which benefits from a gentle gradual slope and fan-shaped seating area, assuring good views and acoustics from any spot. Cold beverages are served over a spacious, granite-topped main bar, and during large events, a number of satellite bars ensure shorter lines, which means more time to enjoy music with your friends.
During the day, the Whitewater Amphitheatre boasts sunny afternoons with unrestricted access to fun activities like tubing, rafting, and canoeing in a less hindered river setting. At dusk, the venue’s Creekside Stage and Biergarten lights up with subtle spot and torch lighting for a perfect evening ambience. As a music venue, the Whitewater Amphitheatre is an altogether unparalleled patron experience.

Whitewater Amphitheatre Stages:
Big River Stage: The enormous main stage is covered and is placed affront one of the most scenic backdrops of any stage in Texas. Like it was pulled right out of a Hill Country painting, the stage runs just steps in front of the Guadalupe River, sitting amongst the area’s breathtaking cliffs and treetops. This multimillion dollar facility offers state-of-the-art sound and lighting for the highest quality, most optimal listening experience.
Creekside Stage and Biergarten: All good Texans, especially in New Braunfels, know that a biergarten is a key necessity when it comes to the enjoyment of cold beer, fine music, and good times in general. The Creekside Stage does not disappoint by any means, with cold ones, as well as washer and horseshoe pits all just steps away. Sit back and relax at one of the many picnic tables dotting the banks of the creek, and sun alongside the pecan and cypress tree lined waters. As evening arrives, the atmosphere becomes mystic with gas torches and lit trees throughout the facility. |
